A female black lemur, Harmonia, free ranging in 1986. Barely visible around Harmonia’s belly is an infant, Polydorus, born that April. Harmonia was sharing a forest enclosure with an additional female and four males. Sire of the infant could have been any of those four males, including Hesperus, who currently is Harmonia’s roommate. He will be 32 in ten days, she will be 32 in three months. They are the only remaining black lemurs at the DLC. Over the years, 119 black lemurs have called the DLC home, during which time 98 black lemurs were born here.
